How we support you

McKenzie Friend support

Practical support to help you navigate the family court process, including:

  • understanding process and expectations
  • preparing for hearings
  • guidance on presenting information clearly
  • support during hearings where appropriate

Attendance may be:

  • remote
  • in person (travel charges may apply)

Spectrum coaching

Spectrum coaching provides structured support to help you:

  • regulate emotional responses
  • think more clearly under pressure
  • respond rather than react
  • make balanced and reasonable decisions
  • maintain focus on what matters most

This approach is widely used in high-pressure environments and is designed to work quickly.

Boundaries and communication support

Separation can become more difficult when communication becomes reactive or emotionally led.

Support is provided to help you:

  • set appropriate boundaries with an ex-partner
  • establish clear expectations
  • communicate in a calm, child-focused way
  • reduce escalation where possible

Child-focused communication tool

Optional add-on £2 per month

You will have access to a custom ChatGPT-based tool which helps you draft messages to your ex-partner in a calm and child-focused way.

You can input a message before sending, and the tool will:

  • reframe wording to reduce conflict
  • support a measured tone
  • help keep communication focused on the children
  • support messages that present reasonably, should they ever be referred to in a legal setting

This tool follows similar principles to other communication platforms that can be significantly more expensive.

Note: this tool is not currently court-approved.

Forms and documentation support

Support available for:

  • completing court forms
  • reviewing documentation
  • ensuring information is presented clearly

Completion of forms or documentation review carries a fixed charge.
